Marie’s Crisis is adorable.  Right in the gay section in the West Village just walk down some stairs into this Broadway haven.   Everyone is friendly and loves show tunes.  Feel free to sing along or to just stand and enjoy.  If your date likes Broadway, singing or new experiences this is one not to miss.  It is a New York staple and always a fun time.

Washington Square Park

Washington Square Park – George Washington Monument

This park has everything.  Beautiful Monument? Check.  Large Fountain?   Check.  Performance artists? double check.  You and your date can soak in the sights and there is almost always some sort of political movement or performance going on.  There are puppeteers and bubble blowers.  Dancers and musicians.  Maybe try your hand against some of the chess experts in the park.

Sit by the fountain or go and sit in the grass and relax.  You are sure to have interesting things to see and talk about as you enjoy Washington Square Park.  Park Website   This park is lively at any time of day and is open til 1 AM.  The people watching here is amazing!

Prospect Park

While Central Park is the most well known of NYC’s parks, there are actually about 1700 parks in the city. Prospect Park is Brooklyn’s second largest public park, and also home to the Prospect Park Zoo.

Along with lots of great nature walks, running trails, and green lawns, the park also offers events throughout the year, from sports events to performances. So if you’re looking for a way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, Prospect Park is the perfect place to lounge about on a beautiful day.

Prospect Park also borders the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, another great place to bring a date.

MOMA

Museum of Modern Art 01
MoMa – The Starry Nights by Vincent Van Gogh

The Museum of Modern Art is not to be missed.   MOMA’s exhibits include drawing, painting, photography and statues. Important collections from 1880s to 1950s are displayed the 5th floor, which includes Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh.

With its stunning architecture and exhibits by such famous artists, you and your date are sure to have a beautiful evening.
