Bring a blanket and spend the afternoon at the beach, or take a romantic walk down the beach hand in hand. Once I saw dolphins jumping out of the water not far away. Usually great music and a cute little hamburger hut.

If you don’t have a car, you can take the A train to the end of the line, and then a bus that drops you in front of the beach. You can also take a ferry from Pier 11 in Manhattan or Brooklyn Army Terminal, which offers a more scenic ride and is priced the same as a subway ride ($2.75 one-way as of this writing). The ferry docks at the Rockaway ferry station and from there, there is a free bus transfer to the beach.
Panaramic views from DUMBO House(Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). Stop by this exclusive club, march up to the roof, and soak up the sunset. Perfect place to enjoy the NYC skyline but from the comfort of the indoors. Great winter date!
TIP: Although it’s a members’ club but you can go up and check the view from the rooftop, see the Brooklyn Bridge, Jane’s Carousel and Manhattan Bridge surrounded by the East River.
Hip Pizzeria just outside The High Line at 14th St. Come on in and sample one of these delicious Pizzas. The staff is so friendly and the Pizza is so good it with reinforce your love of gluten. They also have a vegan option. And they have a pool table.
Also, they have cocktails. Like, specialty cocktails. Like, one of them is served in a light bulb! So you and your date are sure to have a great time. This restaurant makes me proud to be a New Yorker.
You can never go wrong with coffee. Gotan Cafe is a cute coffee shop in the heart of TriBeCa. Brick walls, cool lamps, and friendly baristas will make you feel right at home. They also have tasty sandwiches and salads.

Marie’s Crisis is adorable. Right in the gay section in the West Village just walk down some stairs into this Broadway haven. Everyone is friendly and loves show tunes. Feel free to sing along or to just stand and enjoy. If your date likes Broadway, singing or new experiences this is one not to miss. It is a New York staple and always a fun time.
