Washington Square Park – George Washington Monument

This park has everything.  Beautiful Monument? Check.  Large Fountain?   Check.  Performance artists? double check.  You and your date can soak in the sights and there is almost always some sort of political movement or performance going on.  There are puppeteers and bubble blowers.  Dancers and musicians.  Maybe try your hand against some of the chess experts in the park.

Sit by the fountain or go and sit in the grass and relax.  You are sure to have interesting things to see and talk about as you enjoy Washington Square Park.  Park Website   This park is lively at any time of day and is open til 1 AM.  The people watching here is amazing!

have you MET?

Metropolitan Museum of Art 01
Metropolitan Museum of Art – Halloween trip to the MET

The MET has thousands of beautiful artifacts and art to explore.  You and your date can meander through the museum and talk about art and life as you get to know each other better.

If a museum sounds a bit too stuffy for your tastes try a themed trip to the MET.  Make a small scavenger hunt of things to find or dress up in matching costumes.  I’ll bet your date will appreciate the creativity and Halloween is right around the corner.

PRICE:  Donation based (for NY residents) so pay what you wish.  I like to put out a dollar bill and say, “two please”.

TIP: Make sure not to stay more than an hour or so. Explore and enjoy a few sections or pieces and then come back another day to explore some more.  This will help keep the experience fresh and captivating.  More MET info
